Epoxy Curing with DDM
Epoxy curing agents are compounds used to crosslink and cure epoxy resins, transforming them from a liquid or semi-liquid state to a solid, durable material. One such curing agent is 4,4′-Methylenebis(2,6-diethylaniline) (DDM), also known as MDA (Methylene Diphenylamine).
DDM is a white crystal that is commonly used as a curing agent for epoxy resins due to its excellent curing properties. It provides high strength, toughness, and heat resistance to the cured epoxy system. DDM is typically used in applications that require superior mechanical properties, such as adhesives, coatings, and composites.
When DDM is added to an epoxy resin, it reacts with the epoxy groups present in the resin, initiating a chemical reaction known as crosslinking. This crosslinking reaction forms a three-dimensional network, resulting in the hardening and curing of the epoxy resin.
