The utility model relates to a preparation method of isobornyl acrylate, the steps of which are: acrylic acid, camphene, or a mixture of camphene and tricycle are used as raw materials, and a strong acid resin is used as a catalyst. In the presence of a polymerization inhibitor, isobornyl acrylate is synthesized by controlling the reaction temperature; the acrylic substance is acrylic acid or methacrylic acid; the structural formula of the isobornyl acrylate is: wherein, R=H or CH.
(Meth)isobornyl acrylate has a unique bridging ring structure, which is an excellent functional material combining hardness and flexibility. If the viscosity is significantly lower than that of the corresponding methyl ester, it can be used in copolymers and homopolymers. It has good gloss, hardness, scrub resistance, medium resistance and weather resistance, and its hygroscopicity is significantly lower than that of methyl methacrylate. It is widely used in the manufacture of high-performance acrylic resins and acrylate emulsions, and in the preparation of light-curing Adhesives and water-based adhesives.
Properties of Isobornyl Acrylate
IBO(M)A has good compatibility with various oligomers in light-curing coatings, can effectively reduce the viscosity of the system, is suitable for high-solid coating systems, and reduces VOC emissions. At the same time, it can improve the chemicalbook physical properties such as adhesion, shrinkage, and impact resistance of the coating. At present, solvent-based coatings still account for the main share, and the development of high-solid coatings will be the future trend. IBO(M)A is a reactive diluent with low volatility, low toxicity and irritation, which is beneficial to improve the production and construction environment of coatings.
Uses of Isobornyl Acrylate
1. This product is used in adhesives and special coatings, with high activity, high hardness and low shrinkage. Using IBOA as a reactive diluent in radiation-cured coatings (inks) can effectively reduce the viscosity of coatings (inks), improve construction performance, and improve the leveling of coatings.
2. Using IBOA as a reactive diluent for epoxy acrylic oligomers can significantly reduce the internal stress of the coating and reduce the volume shrinkage of the coating, thereby significantly improving the adhesion, shrinkage, and impact resistance of the radiation-cured coating , scratch resistance and weather resistance without reducing its hardness and flexibility.
3. Used in printing inks on some special printing inks such as outdoor inkjet, polyethylene film and other materials. IBOA is suitable for the manufacture of high Tg thermoplastic acrylic resins, and its products have high hardness, high alcohol resistance and heat resistance. And has good flexibility. Adhesion and moisture resistance, weather resistance, is a new type of acrylate polymer monomer with a very characteristic structure, suitable for the manufacture of soft plastic film coatings such as PET, PE, PP and engineering plastic parts such as PE, PP, PC Decorative protective coating.
